Our Neuro-Affirming Promise

At Neuro Awesome™, we commit to using respectful, strengths-based language in all our media. We will avoid pathologising terms (e.g., “suffers from,” “high/low functioning”). We will always use your preferred pronouns and identity language. You control whether your neurotype is referenced at all.

What We Capture

We may capture photos, video, and audio (collectively, "Content") at our events, including Neuro Hangz.

How We Use the Content

The Content is used to promote Neuro Awesome™ / Neuro Hangz in a respectful and strengths-based way. This includes use on:

• Our website

• Social media channels

• Email communications

• Printed materials

• Event listings

Note: We will not sell your Content to unrelated third parties, nor will we use it to endorse unrelated products or political causes. We will not use the Content in a defamatory, misleading, or stigmatising way.

Your Control and Choices

Attendance requires registration. Your media consent is managed at the point of entry for each event. Your consent is voluntary and does not affect your ability to attend once you have registered. We respect your choices on how (or if) you are featured.

You can complete the full consent form when you register, or you can complete the Quick Micro-Consent form on the day you attend. Both options allow you to specify your preferences for identification, tagging, shot type (group vs. close-up), neurotype reference, sharing with partners/sponsors, and event context.

We use a discreet 'no-filming' indicator for those who do not consent to media capture and will avoid capturing you.

Withdrawing Consent

You have the right to withdraw your consent for future use at any time.

Provide Details: Include your name and, if possible, the link or post you are referring to.

Action: We will stop all new uses immediately and make reasonable efforts to remove the Content from channels we control within 14 days.

Note: This may not remove Content that has already been shared by third parties, social media caches, or printed materials already distributed.

Privacy

We collect and securely store your name, contact details, and media preferences solely to manage your consent. We will not infer or disclose any health or diagnostic information beyond what you explicitly choose to share on the consent form.
