MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

Hey, I'm Carolina

Hi, I’m Carolina Jimenez. Neuro Awesome is more than a project to me—it’s personal, it’s a calling, and it’s a community I feel deeply honoured to be part of.

Neurodiversity came into my life as a gift in the form of my daughter, Sofia—my little mini-me. She was born to a father on the spectrum long before I even knew what that really meant. That experience opened my eyes, my heart, and my world to the beauty, complexity, and resilience of neurodivergent lives.

This movement began with the idea of helping neurodivergent people find love. Along the way, I realised the first step wasn’t always romance—it was belonging. It was creating safe, stigma-free environments where people could show up as themselves, meet others who “get it,” and build friendships, confidence, and community.

I believe every person deserves to feel valued, understood, and embraced for exactly who they are. Through Neuro Awesome, I’m committed to building not just events, but a legacy of inclusion, awareness, and joy—for Sofia, for our community, and for every neurodivergent individual seeking a place that feels like home.

Hey, I'm Shamus

Shamus Hart is a Sydney-based Senior Creative and UX/Product Designer with extensive experience designing complex digital products across digital, mobility and broadcast. Grounded in human-centred design, his work focuses on creating experiences that are intuitive, accessible and genuinely supportive in the real world.

As an autistic and ADHD designer, Shamus brings both lived neurodivergent experience and technical expertise to his work, helping bridge creativity, accessibility and wellbeing. He is also studying psychology, with a strong interest in human connection, emotional safety and the ways environments can support or overwhelm people.

Through his volunteer role with Neuro Awesome, Shamus helps shape more inclusive social spaces by contributing insight, tools and resources that support neurodivergent people and their allies to feel safe, valued and connected.

Treasurer and Director for Community & Family Engagement

Hey, I'm Liz

Liz’s advocacy is deeply personal. As the mum of a 31-year-old son with ASD Level 2, dyslexia and depression, she has firsthand experience navigating school, services, the NDIS and the realities families face supporting a neurodivergent adult.

Seeing the lack of safe, understanding social spaces in the Highlands, Liz started her own group for neurodivergent adults before joining Neuro Awesome. She is passionate about helping ND adults and their families feel less alone, more supported and more connected.

Hey, I'm Greg

Hi, I’m Greg, a proud Wirangu man, entrepreneur, mentor and community builder, with a passion for creating opportunities that help people, businesses and communities grow and thrive.

As the Founder and CEO of First Innovators, I have dedicated my work to supporting First Nations people and communities through entrepreneurship, mentoring, leadership and community development. I believes lasting change happens when people are empowered, connected and supported to pursue their ideas, strengths and aspirations.

I am passionate about bringing people together, building meaningful relationships and creating environments where individuals and communities can learn from one another, share knowledge and create opportunities that lead to long term impact. My work is driven by collaboration, innovation and a genuine belief that everyone has something valuable to contribute.

With experience across entrepreneurship, mentoring, community development, facilitation and leadership, I enjoy turning ideas into action and helping people build the confidence, networks and skills to achieve their goals. I am committed to creating positive social, cultural and economic outcomes and believe that investing in people is the foundation for stronger communities and a better future.

Hey, I'm Sue

Hi, I'm Sue, and I have been part of the Southern Highlands community for more than 25 years, bringing a wealth of local knowledge and experience working alongside individuals and families across the region. For the past six months, I've also worked alongside of the Neuro Awesome committee, helping strengthen our safeguarding practices and ensure our community remains a safe, welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.

As our Brand Ambassador and Community Safeguarding Lead, I brings valuable insight, practical experience and a genuine understanding of the people and communities we serve. My commitment to supporting local people, building confidence and creating opportunities makes me a proud contributor of the Neuro Awesome team.

Games Master Dungeons & Dragons

Hey, I'm Raymond

I help support Neuro Hangz, especially our Neuro DnD games. I got involved because I believe events like these build the kind of compassionate, understanding community many people need. I have a lot of people in my life with ASD and ADHD, and while I don’t have a formal diagnosis, I’ve been told I’m “peer reviewed” for ADHD — haha.

I’m a high school teacher, a former therapist, an author, and the creator behind Arjade Productions, where I’ve been making roleplaying game resources since 2002. I love how games like D&D can help people connect, build confidence and explore emotions in a safe, creative and empowering way.

Creating inclusive spaces has always mattered to me, and through Neuro Awesome I’m grateful to help create moments of connection for people who might otherwise feel isolated or alone.
